Awards
The Society provides three Awards:
- Young Physiologists Awards: winners of the oral and poster presentations at the Young Physiologists Symposium. The Awards consist of a diploma, financial support of a visit to an international symposium and a small personal price.
- Hamburger Award. Named after the famous Dutch physiologist, this award is given to the author of the best Dutch PhD thesis in the area of physiology. The award consists of ...
- Dusser de Barenne Coin. In 1987 the Dutch Society of Physiology decided to install a coin for particular and outstanding...in the area of teaching and research of Physiology. The coin is named after Dusser de Barenne, an important neurophysiologist. He worked at the department of Physiology in Utrecht and, later on, in the United States of America. Recipients of the Dusser de Barenne Coin are: prof. Dusser de Barenne (postumetly to his daughter), prof. Boeles, prof. Zijlstra, the German Society of Physiology, prof. Bernards, prof. Bouman, prof. Reneman and prof. dr. N. Westerhof.
